Annan Athletic Football Club

Founded in 1942, the club call Galabank in Annan, their home ground. The club competes in Scottish League 2. In 2008, the club was voted into the Scottish 3rd division (current League 2), replacing local rivals Gretna who was liquidated. This was a landmark year for the club. Since, they have continually competed in this league, narrowly missing out on promotion in the play-off finals to Albion Rover, in 2011.

The club has been managed by Peter Murphy since 2017, a former Republic of Ireland international.

Former Hearts and Sheffield United striker, Christian Nade had a spell at the club in the 2019-20 season. 

In 2013, Annan beat Glasgow giants Rangers, 2-1 at Ibrox. This was a memorable result for the club, possibly their most!
